More Pontifications!

Cynthia Leitch Smith's blog Cynastions has just posted an interview with yours truly.

It's just chock-full of pearls of wisdom and bon mots.

Ayah so, not really, but maybe it will be of interest. Do check it out...

"And I have plans to collaborate with another author on a YA book about a young girl mad scientist who decides to make a guardian so she isn't sent to an orphanage. Consider it the young Jane Eyre meets Frankenstein...!"

Oh joy . . . that sounds lovely. :)

Hey, Norah Lofts is one of my faves! Especially "Jassy," her version of Rashomon.

I'm so looking forward to reading your future novels, especially those with Tiny Doom and Hardhands. I sure hope I don't have to wait as long as I did for Flora.

Great interview.

Ha! "Jassy"--that's funny you should mention it--I just bought an old paperback copy a week or so ago--I haven't read it yet, but I'm looking forward to it....I also recently picked up an old book club edition of "The Town House." Lofts wrote several books about the history of an old house, as told by the people who lived in it over the centuries. Since I have a thing for old houses, another reason I like her books so much.

I originally read it because Jassy was my favorite character from Pursuit of Love. Between Lofts and Mitford I fell so in love with the name I used it for the heroine in my own novel, the first I ever finished (and promptly threw away). Oddly enough, I, too, recently stumbled across an old paperback "Jassy" and reread it hoping it would still have the power over me it did when I was a teenager. It pretty much did, although I do have some (I guess you'd say) political reservations about it. I'll be interested to hear whether you end up liking it. At least you're a fan of hers so you won't be taken by surprise by the lack of fripperies and folderols in what is no doubt packaged as a romance novel.
