VOYA Ho!

I've just been told that VOYA, a bimonthly journal for educators who work with young adults, has put Flora Segunda on their list of Best Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror of 2006. Apparently, at some point in the past, Flora was reviewed in VOYA, and earned a "prestigious" 5Q rating. I'm not sure exactly what 5Q means, but it sounds cool, eh?

Later: Poking around the VOYA website, I discover that 5Q means: "hard to imagine it being better written."

Thank you, VOYA!

Yay, Flora! Yay, Voya! By the way, Voya --- good choice of letter for rating. Q's are my fave, thus the awkward-on-the-pinky email handle, QerikaQ.

I'm with you all the way on Q. It's my favorite letter of the alphabet. Though woefully underused, this shyness helps Q maintain a sense of exclusivity. And think of the fabulous words that begin with Q: quadrille, quaich, quagmire, queen, quaver, quire, quip, and quorum. And it's a super fun letter to write, that lovely long tail, and all. All Hail the Q!
