Kringle!

Now it's hard to believe that a pastry that is shaped exactly like a toilet seat could be so delicious, but believe me when I say that there is no more delicious pastry in the world than a Kringle.

And you can only get a Kringle in Racine, Wisconsin.

I mean, okay, occasionally you might find a Kringle someplace other than Racine, Wisconsin, but buying a Kringle any place other than in Racine would be a mistake.

A big mistake.

Also, a mistake: not getting a cherry cheese Kringle. All the Kringles are good, but a cherry cheese Kringle is absolutely the Queen of Kringles, the best of the bunch.

Happy for me, I happen to have been to Racine Wisconsin this very day, and have now in my possession not ONE Kringle, but two.

Cherry Cheese and Blueberry.

Ah, frabjous day, callo calley, she chortled in her joy.

Happily, you can buy Kringles all over WI (my homeland). And you can order them online, and they are just as yummy. I have several Kringles in my freezer (went to WI for Easter) ready for eating when I want them.

My favorite flavor is almond.

I have had kringle from other locales, and must admit that I am pretty loyal not only to Racine, but to one particular bakery. I have heard a rumour that this bakery is the only one left that still uses 100 percent butter in their recipe. Whether or not this rumour is true, I'm not sure but, but it's worked to keep me a repeat customer!
